Alice Cooper has clarified a widely reported tabloid story that he has a “death pact” with his wife of 43 years, Sheryl Goddard.

After The Sunday Mirror ran an article under the sensational headline ‘Alice Cooper has DEATH PACT with his wife’ over the weekend, the story has been picked up by numerous news outlets across the world.

The tabloid quoted our Alice as saying about Sheryl: “We’ve made a pact – there is no way of surviving without each other.

“I couldn’t live without her. We always said there will never be a time when one of us will be mourning the other. Whenever it does happen, we are going to go together.”

Alice has now clarified his comments in the article, saying that it’s not a ‘death pact’ – on the contrary he has a “life pact” with Sheryl,we have a LIFE pact. We love life so much.

“What I was meaning was that because we’re almost always together, at home and on the road, that if something did happen to either of us, we’d most likely be together at the time,” Alice added in his statement.

“But neither of us has a suicide pact. We have a life pact.”

In typical Alice style, he also poked fun at the sensationalistic story saying that his touring schedule is “booked through to 2028” anyway.

Having toured the UK with Hollywood Vampires last summer, Alice’s Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back Tour rolls into the UK in October 2019 with support from The Stranglers and MC50.
