Following on from the Wildhearts success of Renaissance Men, their first full length album in a decade and gave Ginger, CJ, Ritchie, and Danny, their highest chart entry since 1994 when it hit number 11, on October 4th. ,they have a little treat for all the
fans as they are releasing a mini album entitled Diagnosis, six tracks five brand new songs and is being released as a limited edition special white vinyl with pale blue powder splatter 10’’ (to look like a pill) and as a regular black vinyl 10” and CD. All three formats will have a special gate fold comic strip sleeve too.
The title track Diagnosis is on the album Renaissance Men, and I think should be released as a single, it’s all about Depression ,mental illness and how the medical health profession is letting people down, mainly due to government pulling the funding into the research and for this reason so many are naïve about this.
God Damn, this is Ginger and the guys at their best, punk metal at its finest fast and furious drums and riffs a plenty to keep you pogoing till you drop, screaming guitars and a screaming Ginger what more could you want it’s got a great sing a long chorus too.
Ginger and his band are well known for having drink mentioned in their catalogue of ditty’s so this is an apt title Songs about Drinking, just when you thought it couldn’t get any faster WRONG!! this song goes at breakneck speed it hits you like a volley of machine gun bullets, only a seasoned headbanger could keep up with this, the chorus is another one for the crowd to join in “Drinking I’m just Drinking” a real fun song. [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhoa0E87h34&w=560&h=315] The First Time A punchy fast rock and roll number that talks of being away from the scene for a while and have you still got the chops and energy and adrenaline to keep going , great harmonies and some great riffs and licks, if this is about Ginger and the
guys thinking that can we still do it? let me tell you guys you still can bring the crowds and you definitely still entertain as well as you ever did.
That’s My Girl, Ginger and the guys singing a love song, this has a real vintage feel to it and is my favourite track on the ep, the Wildhearts have this way of taking you back to the old days of rock, this has so many influences on it, from the Ramones to the Beatles a real winner for me.
Final track on here LOCAC Ginger doing his Corey Taylor Slipknot sound, metal, fast and furious, screeching guitars deep bass, heavy and hard drums and a chorus that’s says “are you being honest with yourself” is this sending another message.
