Penned by the incomparable John Prine, it’s one of my favourite songs,” says Elles, “I’ve been playing it out live, on and off, for the last couple of years. I recorded this version in Nashville in the same session as I recorded most of Road I Call Home – which was almost 18 months ago – so I’m looking forward to sharing this with the world.
Watch the video and you’ll see Elles in action, recording the song in-studio. It proves a magical match for the soulful timbre of her voice, accompanied by a classic Wurlitzer Electric Piano and the marvellous musicians who recorded with her at the fabled Sound Emporium in Nashville.
