Following on from the critically acclaimed and commercially successful fifth year in 2019, Ramblin’ Man Fair returns in 2020! This year the festival will take place on the 17th, 18thand 19thJuly 2020.
Following an announcement at the 2019 prog Awards, Ramblin’ Man Fair are delighted to confirm the complete lineup for the Prog In the Park Stage in 2020.
Chris Ingham, from festival organisers Spirit Of Rock, says, “It’s taken a few years of repeated cajoling, nudging and ultimately old-fashioned pleading but finally RMF is proud to say that we have finally landed Big Big Train to headline the Prog in the Park stage for our 2020 line up. Every BBT show is something special but all at RMF feel that this show on that stage on that night will be something special that Prog fans everywhere will want to witness. Add to that the timeless charms of Curved Air, the reformation of Pure Reason Revolution, the stunning imagination of Moon Safari, the quixotic glory of Lazuli and the sheer songwriting class of Blurred Vision and we rightly believe that 2020s Prog in the park stage is one of our very strongest so far.
Big Big Train (Prog in the Park Stage Headliner) – One of the giants of the British progressive rock scene, Big Big Train formed in 1990 and have released twelve studio albums. For the first 19 years of the bands life they operated as predominantly a studio based project but have since developed into a stunning live act (their 2015 gigs voted as Event Of the Year by the readers of Prog Magazine UK). The band’s last two studio albums both came out in 2017 – “Grimspound” and “The Second Brightest Star”. Headlining Prog In The Park will be Big Big Trains first UK gig since 2017 and will be a UK festival exclusive performance in 2020.
Curved Air (Special Guests) – Formed in 1970, Curved Air are a British act who fuse elments of progressive rock, folk and classical. The band have released eight studio albums (three of which were Top 10 albums in the UK), have a UK Top 10 single to their name (1971’s “Back Street Luv”) and their alumni include The Police’s Stewart Copeland. After a lengthy hiatus the band came together again in 2008 with the “Reborn” album. A classic band who will deliver a stunning live performance at Ramblin’ Man Fair – a UK festival exclusive for Curved Air in 2020.
Ramblin’ Man Fair is the must-see event for discerning festival goers. A quality musical line up with a number of UK exclusive performances. The event is a unique experience fast becoming a staple of the UK festival calendar.
The festival will take place in the beautiful Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent – the garden of England. The park is one of the largest in South East England with more than 450 acres of mature parkland and a 30-acre lake. With multiple travel links via train (Ashford International, Maidstone East and Maidstone West in close proximity) and road (with three park and rides available around Maidstone). The festival site is also perfect for European festival goers with easy links to the London airports, Eurostar via Ashford Int’l and Channel Ferries to and from mainland Europe.
Ramblin’ Man Fair will take place on 17th, 18thand 19thJuly 2020.
