Italian folk-blues six piece is thrilled to announce brand new album “A Man With A Gun Lives Here”, which will be released worldwide via Kono Dischi on 24th January 2020. The band recently released the first single “Prairie-Dogs”, taken from the forthcoming record.
HO.BO comments: “Inspired by the dime novels of late 19thcentury and early 20th century, Prairie-Dogsis a dusty journey into steampunk’s anachronistic elements and the poetry declaration based on the poem The City in the Seaby Edgar Allan Poe”.
“A Man With A Gun Lives Here” was created and developed with an old school approach, recording all the tracks in analogue with original tape. In line with the band’s musical ethos, the album is an intricate collection of experiences across dark, solitary and intimate narrative and sonic journeys.
With “A Man With A Gun Lives Here” Ho.Bo created an unusual blend of deep blues and alternative folk, with Southern nuances and occasional bows to singer-songwriters style. The nostalgic feel, accentuated by round acoustic sound, southern vibes, smooth vocals, is woven into the fabric of Ho.Bo’s soundscape.
The band comments: “HO.BO, comes from Homeward Bound, it’s a journey in which musical adventures and outside contaminations play the prime part. Genres and experiences are collected during endless cultural voyages and elaborated with personal sensitivities. “dark-folk”, “swamp blues”, “alt-country” o “americana” are only but a few of the ingredients constituting this uncommon recipe.
HO.BO formed in 2017 as a creative project by musicians who wanted to pursue their own sound. The band’s unique take on folk and blues clearly transpires from their debut studio album “2/10”, released in February 2019 via NostudioRec, Kono Dischi and La Mansarda.
HO.BO is: Sam (vox, acoustic guitar), Andre (piano, farfisa, wurlitzer), Fil (lead acoustic-electric guitar), Tia (drums), Patou (banjo, bass, harmonica), Edo (electric guitar)
