SARI SCHORR released her latest Live In Europe album through Manhattan Records on Friday 6th March 2020.
It was recorded during her European tour last year and includes tracks from both her studio albums ‘ A Force of Nature ‘ & ‘Never Say Never ‘ and 3 cover versions.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXWq-WLk2ag?start=6&w=560&h=315]The album is a real reflection on seeing & hearing Sari and the band live, they have a great connection on stage and genuinely enjoy playing together. This really creates a fabulous sound on the album, a total live feel and energy to it that is only matched by their live performance. Ash Wilson on guitar has such vibrance and skill, Mat Beable on bass providing the ebbing low line , Roy Martin on drums powering the engine room & Steve Watts who stood in on keyboards for the tour floods out the sound with the ivories.
Opening track is ‘ The New Revolution’ from Never Say Never and the high tempo of the opening track never wains through the whole album . Schorr has one of those voices that always leaves you wanting to hear more with her tone. The covers on the album are ‘I Just Wanna Make Love To You’ written by Willie Dixon & first recorded by Muddy Waters. ‘ Ready for Love ‘ by Bad Company and long-time live favourite ‘ Black Betty’ credited to Leadbelly but best known by Ram Jam . All her other best tracks are here too . ‘Damn the Reason’ , ‘Valentina ‘ & ‘Back to LA’ all outstanding songs live which still creates that live and emotional energy here on this album.
There is not a bad track on the album and it is definitely one for any lover of blues music, if you haven’t heard of Sari Schorr I suggest you remedy this immediately and buy or download this album . 10/10 for me.
