Evanescence – ‘Wasted On You’
Amy Lee and Co are known for their big and powerful symphonic rock that fits more drama into five minutes than ‘Game of Thrones’ does in a season.
Wasted On You’ is another prime example of their art, a dark anti-ballad that starts with a stripped-down piano and vocal intro, gently looping beats before its pounding chorus and back to lighter verses.

Few bands understand the use of light and shade as much as Evanescence and this is another prime example of exactly why they have sold millions of albums worldwide, Lee’s emotive and formidable vocals seldom better than here.
Accompanied by an isolation video that brilliantly captures the zeitgeist, ‘Wasted On You’ is the sound of a band at the peak of their powers.
