It is with great regret, but with a resigned air of inevitability, that Spirit of Rock have to announce the cancellation of this year’s Ramblin’ Man fair due to be held at Mote Park, Maidstone July 17-19.

We had a wonderful set of bands booked to play but the ongoing Covid-19 situation and the UK Government’s total lack of clarity surrounding mass gatherings and the newly announced quarantine period have made this a straight forward decision.

We wish to thank all the hardcore Ramblers out there who have steadfastly stood by us through this difficult time. We feel your disappointment but heartily welcome your support – there is quite simply no crowd like the Ramblin’ Man crowd. You truly rule and your unstinting support humbles us.

RMF had fully investigated a possible September option for the festival and we would like to thank the great number of UK artists that offered their support to play over that period. We know who you are and we will keep you close.

It will also come as no surprise to learn that many of the bands booked for 2020 have expressed their desire to play at next year’s festival, due to be held on July 16th, 17th, 18th 2021 at Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent.

We would like to address the refunds process. Within the next seven days all ticket holders will be receiving an email asking whether you wish to request a refund for your 2020 tickets or roll over those tickets to Ramblin’ Man Fair into 2021.

Ramblin’ Man is an independent festival. It does not have the resources that a Live Nation or an AEG hold. If everyone who holds a 2020 ticket wishes to take a full refund then the 2021 festival becomes a far harder ask to put on to the level that we would all wish to see. To that end we have some incentives that we would like to put forward to our Ramblers in an effort to persuade you to roll your ticket over to 2021.

All those ticket holders who roll over to 2021 will be eligible to attend an extra night of live entertainment on Thursday July 15 at no extra cost. In addition, we are aware that many of you are Early Bird ticket holders. If you already have an Early Bird ticket for 2020 then it will remain valid for 2021.

Our allocation of Early Bird tickets for 2020 sold out in record time and we thank you all. As we are rolling these tickets on to 2021 we will not be issuing any further Early Bird tickets for sale, so please think about holding onto them if you are intending to be with us in 2021.

If you are a ticket holder please read through the FAQ’s below where there are detailed instructions for you to follow.

Once again – thanks for your ongoing support. We WILL see you all in 2021.

FAQs

Why has Ramblin’ Man 2020 been postponed?
RMF 2020 has been postponed due to ongoing safety issues around Covid-19 in the community and the lack of clarity from UK government surrounding the schedule of the return of mass gatherings during summer 2020.

What is the new date for the re-scheduled 2021 date?
The new date for RMF will be the weekend of July 16, 17, 18 2021

I have tickets for RMF 2020, what are my options?
You have two options, which will be sent via email to the address that you used to book your tickets :

*Keep your tickets for the re-scheduled event in 2021. We really hope that you can support RMF by choosing this option.

*Request a ticket refund.

All ticket holders will be contacted via the email address used to make the original ticket purchase and invited to make their choice.

Why should I keep hold of my tickets?
Here are some benefits of keeping hold of your tickets and attending in 2021.

*All 2020 ticket holders who hold onto to their tickets will be invited to attend an exclusive extra night’s entertainment on Thursday July 15 at Mote Park. Only 2020 ticket holders who retain their tickets can attend this night.

* There will be no early bird ticket pricing in 2021. If you purchased an Early Bird ticket for 2020 then this will be honoured for the rescheduled 2021 event. There is a significant saving right there if you were thinking about attending the 2021 event.

* You will be supporting an independent, specialised music event in what is the most difficult time in the sector’s history.

*We intend to entertain our 2021 ticket holders virtually and digitally over the summer and beyond! *If you cannot make the 2021 dates, how about a voucher for 2022?

Will the line up for the postponed event remain the same?
Wherever possible the line up from 2020 will be repeated in 2021. Inevitably there will be changes as RMF features a large array of international artists. However, many of them have already been in touch to already secure their same positions on the bill for next year’s show.

I have decided to keep hold of my RMF 2020 tickets, what do I need to do?
Firstly thanks for supporting RMF in this way. Covid-19 has put businesses across the nation under huge financial pressure and we all really appreciate your support.
Regarding your tickets you don’t need to do anything. All ticket types bought through Eventbrite (including caravans/campervans/disabled/ VIP etc) will remain valid for the rescheduled event in 2021. We look forward to seeing you all then!

Do I need to upgrade my child tickets if being a year older they need an adult ticket?
No. For existing ticket holders it is the age that your children were at the time of the original July 2020 date thats important.

I have booked tickets with a glamping supplier, what happens to them?
All glamping bookings will be valid for 2021 should you decide to attend the rescheduled 2021 event, otherwise you can request a refund direct from Zoobell.

All things considered I would like to request a refund of my RMF 2020 tickets. How do I go about it?
We are very sorry to hear that you aren’t able to be with us in 2021. Bear us in mind for a visit in 2022.

To claim your refund simply select the ‘Refund’ option on the email that will be sent to the address you used to originally book your tickets.

We will try our best to process your request within 28 days of the refund deadline.
If you want a refund, we ask that you make this request by June 1. We will not be able to process refunds after this date.

I bought tickets for a group of people, not just myself and we cannot all decide if we all wish to attend next year so can I part refund some tickets on my group booking?
Yes, you can choose to part refund on a group booking. Upon selecting ‘Refund’ option you will be directed to your original booking page and the number of tickets that you tribally ordered is still listed so you can alter that figure and claim a part refund and choose to leave an allocation to roll over to 2021. You could of course also choose to keep all the tickets in the allocation and gift them to someone else.

How long do I have to decide if I want a refund?
The deadline for refund request is June 1 2020. You must respond to your email by that time.

I have requested a refund, when will I receive the funds?
We hope to have all refunds processed by June 30. Please allow additional time for the funds to reach your accounts.
