There seems to be something in the water of the Solent and the River Hamble that runs through the veins of musicians based in the southern county of Hampshire.

Following on from the extraordinary recordings by Southampton’s The Outlaw Orchestra, their fellow country-infused neighbours Justin Capps and The Cavaliers from the nearby town of Gosport release this tasty slice of Americana to a waiting world.

Upbeat and as sweet as Mom’s homemade apple pie, ’25 Days of Rain’ is a perfect mix of folk and pop that will make your day. Capps vocals have a delightful hint of gravel and this matches perfectly with the fresh, soulful and flavoursome tones of Emily-Louise Walton as the two narrate this unfolding paeon to the hope and promise of love.

With a single this good the prospect of a full album is even more mouthwatering. Put this on and let the sunshine flood in.
