Phil X and The Drills – ‘Right on the Money’

Taking a break from his day job as Bon Jovi six stringer, ‘Right on the Money’ sees a very welcome return of Phil’s own power trio for a bit of good time rock ‘n’ roll.

Adrenaline soaked, with great vocals and some virtuoso playing, this really benefits from a truly live feel and you can feel the wild energy and spark that this generates as it crackles with electricity.

Touches of tough AOR melody pepper the first half of the song before a breakdown leads things into heavier territory, the band letting loose and ripping it up.

Stylish, classy and yet somehow downright dirty, this is intoxicating stuff and should be played at least once a day, just as the doctor ordered.
