Love him or loathe him, the thing is with Marilyn Manson, you just can’t ignore him and later this year, September 11 to be precise, he releases his eleventh studio album ‘We Are Chaos’.
Recorded before the Covid-19 pandemic set in, Manson sets out to give us a taste of what’s to come, by releasing the title track as the lead single.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQJFP1INGxs&w=560&h=315]Starting out, an acoustic guitar and Manson’s vocal lead us through what is at times a haunting tune, that bursts into life just over a minute in. This song is controlled rage, madness, genius, social comment and a cry for help all rolled into one which when coupled with the curious video showcases Manson at his best. Not as heavy as some of his previous work, but a great atmospheric tune that makes good use of that growling voice.
This sounds like the prelude to another great album from one of our most original performers, so let’s hope September comes around quickly.
