Los Angeles-based, grunge/rock revivalists, Broken Machine, announce new single “Sweet Mary Jane,” the second single from their new EP which was released earlier this year.
Taken from the bands debut EP ‘Fly Me To The Sun’ frontman Schyler Douglas comments that “Sweet Mary Jane’ “Is a look into my own personal regret of past substance abuse”
“I wrote Sweet Mary Jane during a moment of self reflection about my past addictions.” Schyler Douglas commented “I was feeling depressed about spending so much of my earlier life focused on getting high instead of being clear, present and focused in life.”
The song is available to stream and download now as part of the ‘Fly Me To The Sun’ EP. https://ffm.to/bmsmj
With a past stained by indulgence, debauchery and substance abuse, Broken Machine channel their inner demons into their brand of brooding Post Grunge on their debut EP ‘Fly Me To The Sun’.
The EP touches on a variety of topics – tracks like ‘1913’ leaning into governmental corruption and collapse, ‘Sweet Mary Jane’ digs up personal regret of substance abuse, and ‘Fly Me To The Sun’ delves deep into personal transformation via psychedelics.
Produced by Elliot Lanam and Broken Machine and mixed by legendary American record producer, Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Slipknot) and mastered by Ted Jenson (Alter Bridge/Green Day).
