Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

Hewn from the new album, ‘Even the Devil Believes’, this storming slice of chunky hard rock shows that Stryper can most certainly hold their own against anyone else in the market.

First emerging in the mid 1980’s and finding both international fame and notoriety, the Orange County metallers have been through a real rollercoaster but always come out fighting for their faith and music.

As always, there’s a positive message in the lyrics but since reforming after a time away, the band have grown from strength to strength, the sound getting harder and harder as they eschewed the slightly more saccharine elements of old.

Make no mistake, this rocks and if you’d generally avoid anything with a ‘Christian metal’ tag then now would be a great time to put those prejudices to the side to take a listen. The yellow and black attack is back and firing on all cylinders.
