A further 17 acts have been added to the Download Festival 2021 line-up this morning.
Thrash metal titans Megadeth have been confirmed as the Second Stage headliners on Friday 4th June 2021. It will be Dave Mustaine and co.’s first appearance to Donington Park in five years.
The Main Stage will welcome Canadian rock juggernauts Monster Truck on the Saturday and Australian metalcore band Northlane on the Sunday.
Lancaster rockers Massive Wagons have made the leap to the Second Stage in 2021, with solo guitarist and vocalist Ayron Jones also confirmed.
Also newly announced today are influential Californian punk veterans Descendents, who will be headlining The Avalanche Stage on the Sunday night in what will be their inaugural appearance at Download Festival.
Other acts confirmed for The Avalanche Stage are Creeper frontman Will Gould’s new project Salem, Blackpool pop punks Boston Manor, reggae punks The Skints and fast-rising emo outfit Static Dress.
Will Gould says: “Excited and humbled to announce that Salem will be performing at this year’s Download Festival. Looking forward to staying out of the sun with you all in 2021.”
Elsewhere, new additions for The Dogtooth Stage are Welsh death metallers Venom Prison, Fire From The God, Dead Poet Society, The Scratch, Uncured, Renounced and The Injester.
Headlined by KISS, Biffy Clyro and System of a Down, Download Festival takes place at Donington Park from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th June 2021.
Among the 85 acts confirmed across the weekend are Deftones, A Day To Remember, Volbeat, Rise Against, The Pretty Reckless, Those Damn Crows, Wayward Sons, Steel Panther, The Distillers, Killswitch Engage, Myles Kennedy and Airbourne.
