Well, this track kicks up quite the storm doesn’t it?
Its one thing to write about such a bleak and real subject but to deliver with such conviction is another thing entirely.
5FDP have done just that! They make you believe every noted and lyric.
With no warning, after the brooding intro they just grab you by the throat and tell you how it is!
‘Broken World’ is song full of anger and disgust looking at the world we live today, and what I love more than anything is the almost understated chorus line versus the guttural verse parts.
The instruments compliment with really pleasing rises and falls against Moody’s vocal but never losing that pent-up rage that (to me anyway) seems to be the message in the track.
In the world we live in right now its hard not to write about it I guess but again doing it right is something that cannot be contrived. As the listener you better make us stand up and listen to the message and 5FDP do just that!
A real triumph of a song that was immediately added to my playlist.
