Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM
Hugely influential and groundbreaking, Raven have always been a band that have done things their way.
There’s a strong case for saying that, along with Cannuck’s Anvil, these Geordie rebel rousers were very much at the forefront of what became thrash when they emerged from the North East at the start of the 1980’s.
Still producing albums that capture that feral and no-nonsense approach, the band rocks as hard as ever, showing up some of the current crop of new artists for the pretenders they are.
Not So Easy’ motors along, bristling with energy and attitude and will equally thrill old fans and those just discovering the trio.
Perfectly straddling those exciting days when a new, tougher and faster genre was born whilst always pressing on to the future, Raven have done it again. The legends are most definitely alive and very much kicking.
