Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

There is a thriving metal scene in Australia that goes way beyond starting and finishing with AC/DC.

From bands like The Angels, Rose Tattoo and onto Massive, all we seem to get to see is the tip of the iceberg but bands like Horizons Edge show there’s a huge amount of talent on the rise and this new single gives a very seductive taste of all that’s to be discovered.

With a flurry of synths before the guitar starts shredding, you’re immediately thrust into dark and dangerous territory, the extraordinary and tough vocals of Kat Sproule coming in like a Hellion.

With an almost industrial speed metal rush to the soaring chorus, the singer leads the Melbourne combo with a power and command that few of her counterparts manage.

With a helterskelting rhythm and solo, the song finishes in a rush that’s pure adrenaline. If they need a theme song for the next Mad Max film, director George Miller couldn’t go wrong with this turbo charged beast.
