BOOM! …If there was a 1-word review that would be it!.. BOOM!

The Dust Coda’s new single ‘Breakdown’ is a blast and a joy for the ears! It bleeds all the earthy elements of blues with a robust and dirty edge.

The rhythm section of Miller and Ho oozes cool grooves and the guitars riffs over them are nasty and raw.

It is a very well written track also from a vocal perspective. Lyrically its brilliant and Drake’s vocals, for me anyway, is like that of Robert Plant.

Not that he sounds anything like him but there’s this great illusion that he is roaring like a lion throughout when he really is not, its all about conviction and tone and the accompaniment of the bands big sound allows him to actually use attitude and chill out on the vocals, that’s what I hear anyway, and I LOVE someone who can give you this sound with their voice.

That is until around 2.40 when it drops and holds you in suspense …then a storming guitar part with a thunderous vocal until the end!

Also, I have to note the production, its all mixed so so well with every part being easy to hear and it all blends incredibly.

It’s a tune…simple as that…big kudos guys!!
