FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH have just released a new lyric video for their song ‘I Refuse’, which features on the band’s recent compilation album ‘A Decade Of Destruction, Volume 2’. Fans will already be familiar with this track as it appeared on the 2018 album, ‘And Justice for None’.
A lyrical video is perfect for this song because the focus is on the words, not theatrics or cinematography.
When these guys slow things down, it’s truly magnificent because the power is in the words as much as the music, and the songs feel like they are aiming straight for your soul.
I Refuse’ is no exception. With a soft piano intro tin to Moody’s unmistakable vocals, and an acoustic breakdown half way through, you won’t be able to stop yourself imagining this played to perfection at an unplugged session.
Five Finger Death Punch know what they are doing, whether melodic or metal, you know their creativity will hit your right in the chest like a train.
One more thing. I sometimes think that if Superman could sing, he would sound like Ivan Moody. Just a thought.
