Review by Lindsay Smith for MPM

U.S. rockers UPON WINGS have released a new single ‘Eternal Way’ featuring the fabulous Ralf Scheepers.

I hadn’t heard anything from this band before being asked to review this single but found myself trawling their YouTube to get a real flavour of the band and really appreciating their music as I did.

‘Eternal Way’ begins with a powerhouse of a gritty dirty opening riff which consistently repeats and growls below the divine melodic tones of Anne Erickson’s vocal. It’s tuneful, attention grabbing and when the distinctive vocal of Primal Fear’s Ralf Scheepers appear in the chorus, it really does take this up to another level.

This is a track that needs to be played loud, the repeating riff allows you to fall into the song in an almost hypnotic way but then you are pulled back to reality by the splintering shredding from Max Georgiev of Falling In Reverse, which slaps you around before more of the power of the music and the trance inducing vocals capture you, pulling you deeper into their sound.

A solid offering from the band and a welcome one to any playlist. Check out the video below.
