By Andy Houghton for MPM
Best known for his classic rock musicals Vampires Rock and Anything For Love, featuring the music of Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman, Steve Steinman’s first album of original music, ‘Take A Leap Of Faith’, is set for release August 2nd, 2021.
In the run-up to the album launch, Steve has released a new video for the single ‘I Don’t Know About Love’.
Set in the American Mid-West, the video has a cinematic feel that reflects the epic and expansive nature of the track. The video shoot itself was completed on a single day in Nottinghamshire.
“It’s like a movie”, says Steve. “We went down to the OK Diner and filmed outside there at night. And then I found a dirt road; we wanted it to look like the Midwest. As it happened, the sun came out – you’d think we were in America, like we’re in the cornfields. We got some brilliant shots.
Steve has come a long way since his appearance as Meat Loaf on ITV’s Stars In Their Eyes back in 1993. For the past 21 years he has toured the globe in his hit show, ‘Anything For Love: The Meat Loaf Story’ and ‘Vampires Rock’. This has led to him playing in some of the world’s most iconic venues, including Sun City South Africa and the London Pallidum.
The hiatus in theatrical productions during the pandemic gave Steve an opportunity to put together his first album of original music, in collaboration with Steve Etherington and Greg Morton. Entitled ‘Take A Leap Of Faith’, the album is due for release on August 2nd and is available for pre-order.
The title track has already been released, and an accompanying video is available on YouTube: check it out below.
