Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

Strap yourself in, remove all pets and breakables from the house and whatever you do, don’t drive. Something is coming that will change your world.

New material from Guns n’ Roses is always an event, but nothing quite prepares you for the fire and fury of ‘Absurd’. Running with a relentless riff from Slash and Axel’s most ferocious vocal since their debut (or possibly ever), this is a seismic sledgehammer to the senses, an adrenaline soaked rocket ride that roars and moves at nose-bleeding speed from the off.

Far from being just a blistering attack, there is a huge sense of dynamics and barely controlled power here that lifts this already extraordinary song out into another world, the song knowing just when to blindside you with a tempo change that takes your breath away.

Full of attitude and with more punch than an enraged Mike Tyson, ‘Absurd’ is all you could have ever dreamt off and more, a wrecking ball that’s come in and destroyed every other release this year.

A statement writ large and clear and a warning to every other band on the planet, Guns n’ Roses are, indeed, back.
