Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

Something wicked this way comes. Hewn, or rather ripped screaming and bloodied, from the soundtrack for the forthcoming ‘Halloween Kills’, this is Ghost at their most popmetalgothic.

As grand, elegant and terrifying as always, ‘Hunter’s Moon’ brings together all the best elements of Tobias Forge’s ABBA-like knack of writing irresistible songs with and killer hooks (something Michael Myers would know a lot about) alongside the Nameless Ghouls firing out coruscating riffs, stabbing keys and punishing drums and bass.

Full of ball crushing power, soaring melodies and slashing riffing, the intoxicating potion reinforces just why Ghost are festival headliners in waiting.

As unsettling and macabre as you could ever hope for, this is the return that’s happily been haunting your nightmares for months. Lock your doors and don’t open them for anything or anyone.
