Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

Following a six year silence, the Los Angeles rockers are back and as fine and funky as ever on this, the first single from soon to be released twelfth studio album ‘Unlimited Love’.

Starting with a deceptively gentle and Summery intro, Anthony Kiedis sounding like he’s just come back from a relaxing stroll on Huntington Beach lays down a chilled vocal as Flea brings up a bubbling bassline below.

Things soon heat up as it kicks into an irresistible groove, the guitar work of John Frusciante chopping as Chad Smith lays down the swinging beat.

With a fuzzed out, Interstellar solo adding a bit of dirt, the rest of the song rides along on a punchy and propulsive wave until it’s gloriously shuddering climax.

The Chillis are back and they aren’t taking prisoners.
