Japanese superstars MAN WITH A MISSION have been announced to perform at the world’s largest international competition for action sports ‘X Games’, taking place in Chiba, Japan from April 22nd – 24th.
MAN WITH A MISSION will perform on April 23rd and the song ‘Tonight, Tonight’, taken from their forthcoming album Break and Cross the Walls II out May 25th via JPU Records, has been selected as the theme song for the ‘X Games Chiba 2022 Presented by Yogibo’.
Regarding their involvement with X Games 2022, MAN WITH A MISSION vocalist, and avid skater/snowboarder, Tokyo Tanaka says, “X Games is being held in Japan – it’s really exciting.

It’s an event I’ve been longing for and we’re playing live, I can’t help but get excited! At the world’s top action sports festival, we are all together. “Moriagarimasho!! Let’s get excited.

Break and Cross the Walls II is the band’s seventh studio album, and the companion to their last album Break and Cross the Walls I released in 2021.

The collection was originally conceived as an ambitious two-disc set but recording sessions became affected by the prolonged world Covid situation and, so as not to disappoint fans with a longer wait, it was decided to release the set as two consecutive albums.

The forthcoming 14-track album of huge rock anthems also includes further songs selected for huge syncs including ‘More Than Words’, which has been selected as the theme song for upcoming movie Radiation House The Movie out later this month, and ‘Blaze’ which is the opening theme song of the TV animation Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans, which is already broadcast in Japan.

MAN WITH A MISSION are one of the most successful rock bands in Asia today. The half man, half wolf collective consist of Tokyo Tanaka (vocals), Jean-Ken Johnny (guitar, vocals, rap), Kamikaze Boy (bass), DJ Santa Monica (DJ), Spear Rib (drums).
They regularly sell out arenas across their homeland and have also completed sold-out headline tours of the UK, Europe and US. The five-piece have a rabid following in the UK, no better demonstrated than at the overflowing tents at festivals including Reading & Leeds and Download.
MAN WITH A MISSION have been a part of major cultural moments in Japan and beyond. Their songs have sound tracked numerous films, TV shows, video games and TV commercials.
The band celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2020 with a trio of MAN WITH A MISSION compilation albums including their greatest hits. There’s still no stopping the feral energy of MAN WITH A MISSION as they ready to release their latest album Break and Cross the Walls II in 2022.
X Games, X Games Japan Organizing Committee, and Chiba City have formed a partnership, and with the lifestyle brand Yogibo as the title partner, they present the ‘X Games Chiba 2022 Presented by Yogibo’ at the ZOZO Marine Stadium. Moto X and other popular action sports games will be held for three days at the event. Participants include more than 100 top athletes from around the globe in the hottest three-day competition schedule in the world.
On the 22nd (Friday), qualifying rounds for various sports and MotoX freestyle demonstrations will be held. There will also be X Games-like events such as the BMX Flatland Finals and the Men’s Skateboarding Bart Finals.
The 23rd (Sat) is Men’s Skateboard Street Qualifying, Men’s Skateboard Bart Best Trick, Women’s Skateboard Park Final, Men’s BMX Park Final, Men’s BMX Street Final, Moto X Best Whip, and music that is unique to X Games including live performances.
The 24th (Sun) will be the final day of the moto-X freestyle demo, which condenses the appeal of X Games in the high-profile competitions of the Men’s Skateboard Park Final, Men’s Skateboard Street Final, and Women’s Skateboard Street Final.
