Heavy, alternative two-piece rockers Ghosts Of Men announce that they have teamed up with friends / vocalists Lou Brett and Bridget to release a new single on 3 February 2023.

All proceeds from their remarkable take on Kate Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ will benefit the National Autistic Society, as chosen by her daughters and husband, in honour of Tina Sherwood.

The single will come ahead of their as yet-untitled third album in summer 2023 and was produced by Adam Bowers [When Rivers Meet].

The band said, “In Early December 2022, whilst recording our cover version of ‘Wuthering Heights’ in an attempt to expunge a particularly aggressive ear worm that Ads had been carrying for most of the year, we received the sad news of Tina Sherwood’s passing.

Tina was an inspirational force who dedicated her whole life to the nurturing and encouragement of musical and creative minds and was loved by the whole UK grassroots rock, folk and punk music industry. She inspired wherever she went.”

Tina was well known in the grassroots music scene as a talented photographer and as Head of the ‘Forge Ahead Initiative‘, a band-mentoring programme run by ‘The Forge Music Group’.

She was known as ‘The Fairy Rockmother’ by the young musicians she worked with who benefitted from her wisdom and tireless support. An effervescent, positive personality, she was very much loved on the scene she herself loved so much, and will be very much missed.

Ghosts Of Men made Tina’s acquaintance on the live circuit.  They have toured extensively in Europe and played great Festivals; particular highlights being RosRock with Skindred in the NL, playing with Frank Turner in Berlin, a Stage Headline at Bloodstock 2021 and slots at Boomtown, Bearded Theory and Beautiful Days.  The band are a potent live force, being described as, “Like a two piece Queens of the Stone Age, if Queens of the Stone Age were entirely composed of Morecambe and Wise” by BBC Radio.

Royal Blood, White Stripes, Suicide, Black Keys, The Kills, Carter USM: the world of rock has seen a few two-piece bands that can overcome the perceived limitations of a limited line-up, strip back to essentials and really bring the noise.

In fact, Les Carter from Carter USM said, “Ghosts Of Men are amazing. People always said that my old band made a big noise for two people, we cheated though, we had backing tapes. Clegg and Adam take it to a whole new level. Awesomeness drips from every note.”

This slamming and refreshing take on an evergreen classic is a great way to celebrate the life of a friend and raise some money for charity, but also signals the return of a band blessed with energy and bite.

As Metal Hammer said, “No bulls**t, no pretence, no fu**ing about; just massive Rock’n’Roll riffs”. Whilst Kate Bush has yet to comment on the track, Ghosts Of Men are back: and truly hitting the Heights
