Just a few minutes after taking the deserved roars of approval from several thousand metal maniacs inside the Cardiff International Arena 2006 Eurovision winner Mr. Lordi takes time to chat. Eight tracks across 40 stupendously glorious minutes have been eagerly devoured by the horde and the overlord master has cast a powerful incantation!
“I’m the last person that anybody should ask any fucking advice about anything!” Mr Lordi speaks in jocular form with MPM’s Gary Spiller about Eurovision and all things Lordi. The bastard offspring, born of a turbulent, violent time, of The Duke of Demons and Angel the Troll he utilised his supernatural powers to gain control over Lapland. Hollering in from northern realms Lordi has landed in Cardiff, transported upon his sleigh pulled by flying zombie reindeer, to entertain the masses.
After 30 plus years in the industry Lordi shows no signs of slowing, quite the reverse in fact. A busy 2023 schedule awaits before the anticipation of returning to the studio sometime next year. I’m now off to check out the latest release ‘Screen Writers Guild’; the three singles all aired in Cardiff have caught my ear!
