Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

This will rock your world. Belfast’s Amy Montgomery has a way of burrowing deep under your skin and drilling into your subconscious, this twisting and twisted combination of feral, siren vocals, groove and attitude a ridiculously heady brew.

Already known for her incendiary live performances, this new single manages to capture Montgomery doing what she does best, her spiky performance and switchblade lyrics exuding a curiously dangerous attraction.

Sounding like the lovechild of Patti Smith and Iggy Pop, the looping musical rhythm and powerful punch cements her reputation as a future icon and someone who will not be silenced. In a world where a procession of brightly hued but empty pop stars are paraded in front of us and two-minute bites of Tik Tok are used to feed our collective souls, here is something with real soul and lasting worth.

All hail your new queen.
