Review by Tammy Lomax for MPM
Ah, Ingested, the band that keeps on giving.
Honestly, absolutely nothing and I mean nothing is stopping these Mancunian dudes. If they are not releasing some ravishingly meaty death metal, they are steaming through countries relentlessly touring.
They are wholly militant in their approach, vastly committed and their resolve is utterly admirable. Their whole stance as a band is completely respectful and they are such a sound bunch too.
Proudly admitting I have been obsessed with Ingested since 2009 when they released one of my favorite albums to date ‘Surpassing The Boundaries Of Human Suffering’
They opened a new door of extremeness for me, I was a total virgin to a sound like theirs and it certainly triggered me to explore this further.
Their sound has mutated with advancements over the years and as they matured, they have tapped into an assortment of elements and layering which generally work.
Their 2022 album ‘Ashes Lie Still’ was a creation inspired throughout COVID which had a slightly depressive tone but suited that moment in time.
Now, they have released the details of their upcoming eighth album ‘The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams’ which is more energetic and similar to their earlier stuff.
This will be released to us all on the 5th April via Metal Blade Records and has special guest appearances from Chimaira’s Mark Hunter and Sylosis vocalist Josh Middleton.
In celebration of this wonderful news, Ingested dropped the new single “Paragon Of Purity” alongside a savage video.
It’s a salivating single and it makes me eagerly bounce with huge excitement for the release of this album. Jason is an absolute monster with his vocals, the guy has some significant vicious bite. The pace is good and steady and the slams just wallop you to bits. It’s dark, intense and gnarly and assuredly leans towards their earlier sound.
Strap in, ‘The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams’ is going to blow the roof off.
