Review by Richard Henry for MPM

Its a rough night in Belfast, here we are back up to the big city on a Saturday night for Enter Shakiri who are out in support of their “A Kiss for the Whole World” album! The gigs are starting to come in thick and fast now! Let’s get inside and see what is in-store for us tonight!

Good crowd in as well and in fine voice for the warm up music before the gig!

System

There was a house, starts off this with the storm noises in the back ground as it all builds in atmosphere with the synths and the storm building, while Matrix style graphics are in the screen then the band kick in, heavy bit really clear sound in the room when the band all kick in, whole crowd is singing along to the chorus part in this one!

Meltdown

Before Meltdown kicks in with that heavily processed drum pattern before it really kicks into drum and bass land, really reminds me of pendulum this one, really cool stage setup with the screens scrolling the lyrics as the band play, lots of hands in the air for this one!

Live Outside

Everyone is singing away to the start of this one, it’s not often you hear that many people in the place who know all the lyrics to the song but for sure the guys in here tonight do, great crowd participation, give yourselves a clap the back Belfast! Great stage-show as well I might add, really good lighting and backdrops, real spectacle for all those watching!

Giant Pacific Octopus

There’s no let up as it’s one track straight into another, furious pace to the start of this one and an almost thrashy start to it before it builds up into the riff and then breaks down right away again, great vocal harmonies coming in as well on this one before it gets into the chorus part with everyone singing away to I don’t know you anymore, the crowd are loving life on this track!!

Anaesthetist

Loving that back screen and all the visuals going with the intros, again the crowd are right with the bands in this, although disappointed to see no mosh pit’s during that heavier part, if you don’t like strobes this is not the song for you, that heavy ass baseline part at the end just bangs!

Torn Apart

Lots of intros and that’s the only break you really get between songs, pulsing bass to the start of one, real heavy drum and bass vibes to this one, again I hear massive amounts of Pendulum in this song,

Interlude

Love this track and so do the crowd with again massive amount of singalong in this from everyone in here, there is a party on the floor!! Love the dynamics on this track as well really switched about loads!

Jailbreak

There is definitely a party atmosphere in here tonight everyone is getting in with the singing, haven’t heard it this loud in ages, when the main part of this kicks in and it is thunderous as well, the bass is hitting hard in this, again love the jail cell graphics on the screen on this one, gives it a real stage show, oh there we go, first crowd surfing off the night!!

Bloodshot

Again straight from one song to another and there is no let up, the crowd are straight in singing on this one yet again, that stage show though is just wow! A bit of a reprieve in the verse before it slams in on the chorus part, and another crowd surfer, now we are waking up a bit in the middle of the crowd, great double vocals on this one, when it breaks down you can hear the crowd singing and clapping along!

The sights

Love the intro to this one before it all goes supersonic, or rave mixed with drum and bass in this one, before the guitars kick in, then it gets a good bit heavier!

Goldfish

This one sort of slips slowly, almost like a shift into a shuffle, before it changes into the chorus part, it’s actually a pretty damn heavy track when you think of it, lots of hands in the air and cameras pointed at the stage, again the light show is class, never mind the fish eyes on the screen, looks like a Disney character, loads of shapes being thrown in here by the crowd!

The Jester

That’s a mad start to this one, when it breaks down it’s properly slamming, and yeah a few people have taken the nod and got up and over, longing the trumpet part to this, almost jazz, almost!!

Losing my Grip

The lights are pulsating in time with the music at the start of this so it’s all on a click, the crowd are clapping along to the synth party at the start of this one, we are gods, everyone is singing to that refrain at the start before the guitars kick in, this is a proper slammer of a track, kicking between drum and bass and properly heavy with guitars!

Juggernaut’s

First actual break between tracks, and it’s apparent why as this is an acoustic solo track, the whole crowd helping to carry the tune as well, and a welcome bringing down of the pace of the set as it’s been frantic so far, not the song for a crowd surfer but there ya go!

Stand Your Ground

Everyone knows this one, proper heavy track and an almost hardcore vocal, this is the heaviest one so far tonight, all the hands are in the air for this, and I think a bit of a pit has just happened, best crowd response of the night for sure!!

Enter Shakiri

Slamming is the word for this, the crowd are really getting into the heavier tracks to be fair, and this one really is getting everyone going, again the crowd have been right into this the whole night, serious energy coming from the stage as well, class, the guitarist is out in the crowd for the end of this one!

Mothership

Lots of jumping around for the start of this venue it breaks down to a lighter part peppered with the guitar and bass, before it properly breaks into a heavier part for the chorus and then the synths get added with the dual vocals and then it gets proper heavy for the next part, again there is just no let up!

Satellites

As I say that it drops a bit for the start of this one, before we get a massive singalong for the chorus part and the tempo kicks up for the chorus, great lasers on this one as well stretching across the crowd to the back of the venue, love the way this one keeps changing feel as well, keeps the song hurtling along at a breakneck pace!

The dreamers hotel

Rumbling drum part at the start of this one, then it kicks in and keeps changing, the crowd are literally singing the whole middle section of this one at the top of their voices, then it drops and gets properly heavy!

And the band are off but we are not done yet!

Sorry Your not the Winner

Storming back on with a furious drum and bass intro, the crowd are bringing the noise to the start of this and they are singing every lyric back at the band, that’s the most metal riff of the night in this one, like every other song tonight, the crowd are right behind the band!

Kiss for the Whole World

Its a see of blue light for the start of this one, before the riff kicks in, the bouncing has begun from the pit, the hands are in the air for this one and everyone is singing back the chorus refrain back at the band, the last few crowd surfers make their way over, heavy ending to that one and the crowd all bouncing about the place as well!

Great energetic set from the guys tonight, another excellent Saturday night in the city!!!!
