It’s been a crushing time for great bands over recent years, obstacles to growth thrown in everyone’s paths and even some of the cream of the signed unsigned scene falling by the wayside.
One such band was Winter In Eden. Now, rising from the ashes, Vicky and Steve Johnson have returned with new project Never Untold, the duo leaning into the Symphonic Prog Rock that saw them receive plaudits from critics and music fans alike during WIE’s lifespan.
It’s an audacious and thrilling opening chapter to this new book as ‘Silence’ already has the class and power to match anything around today. With the sweeping keys, muscular guitars and Vicky’s soaring voice bringing a truly epic feel, this is a number that bears repeat listening’s and is the perfect taster for what is to come.
The main refrain of “never look back” will stay with you for days and the mantra something to hold onto for life. Truly wonderful stuff.
