Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM
Fast emerging London based quintet Tales of Perdition have an ace up their sleeves and aren’t afraid to play it as propulsive new single ‘Hold Down The Hunter’ proves.
With the rest of the world seemingly trying to catch up with the latest trends or second guess what that might be, the outfit here are forging ahead and making their own path with a unique sound that blends elements of Central European Gothic with speed metal riffing.
Dark, mysterious and yet as exhilarating as being strapped to the back of a runaway horse tearing through a forest at midnight, the twin fretwork of Matt Simpson and Andy Payne is a head spinning blur of notes as vocalist Alea Trip weaves her own magic over the chaos.
With a promise of much more to come, Tales of Perdition have marked themselves as one’s to watch for 2026. A genuinely thrilling experience and enough to raise the dead. You have been warned.
