Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

There’s something happening in London right now, the capitol has become a thriving hotbed of great new music in a way that hasn’t been seen since the mid to late 1960’s.

More and more exciting new rock ‘n’ roll bands are emerging from the wreckage of recent years, determined to claim back the all-pervading sense of wildly abandoned good times that birthed that original wave.

Whilst not as feral as some of their counterparts on this outing, Dead Writers have a sweeping style very much their own, a Gothic grandeur that is as darkly romantic as it is light and pastoral.

Among Spirits’ elegantly drifts, its layered beauty heightening their grandly melodic rock as singer Paul Shine emotes with an untouchable coolness that’s jagged with a simmering and soulful warmth.

Whilst the autumnal colours appear all around us and the wind starts to bite, this will warm you heart and take you to a much nicer world.
