In the words of the indomitable Blues Brothers “We’re putting the band back together!” Irish rockers The Answer are back and boy do they mean business! With the release, appropriately on St. Patrick’s day, of “Sundowner’, their first studio offering since 2016’s ‘Solas’, they have laid down a marker of serious intent with a rich, mature delivery.
With a successful appearance at last year’s Rockstock festival, hosted by Planet Rock, the affable quartet are back out on the road for a series of dates across the UK. MPM’s Gary Spiller was welcomed on board The Thekla in Bristol for a chat with bassist Micki Waters and frontman Cormac Neeson.
The pair look back and reflect upon their hiatus and the reformation. The energy, passion and drive has returned and is clearly apparent as they discuss the new album and the challenge of balancing the choices for the tour’s setlist.
Having toured the world headlining and supporting the likes of AC/DC, Deep Purple and Rolling Stones it’s apparent that the band are completely re-energised and determined to get the message out there that The Answer are a force to once again be reckoned with!
