Uli Jon Roth is a pioneer, a visionary, and explorer who has put his 50-year career in the service of art and music. He is one of the most mentioned and most influential rock guitarists of modern times.
2023 is a very special year in the career of Uli – with a series of releases and touring planned. The year has already seen BMG reissues of the five seminal the Scorpions albums Uli was a part of – reinforcing the monumental legacy and trailblazing worldwide impact his tenure in that band exerted.
Furthermore, the eagerly anticipated reissue of Electric Sun’s “Earthquake” is set to be released on 29th September 2023 on vinyl and CD.
With meticulous attention to detail, the album was lovingly transferred from the original 2-track master tapes at Dierks Studios, the very place where all the iconic Scorpions albums came to life.
Through painstaking precision, the sound quality has been restored, capturing and reviving its original vibe for a new generation of listeners. Electric Sun’s “Earthquake” will be distributed globally through Uli’s newly established label, Alpha Experium, with the backing of our distribution partner, Cargo Records.
Uli is renowned for his trade-mark Sky Guitars which he designed himself with their vastly extended tonal range. These instruments are the very pinnacle of design and innovation. Only about 100 of these unique guitars have been built so far and they are highly sought after. More information can be found on https://www.sky-guitars.com/

Born in Düsseldorf, Germany in 1954, ULI JON ROTH rose to fame as a teen-ager in the early 1970s as the lead guitarist for the SCORPIONS.
During his five-year tenure with Germany’s most famous band, Uli developed a unique and revolutionary approach to guitar playing, incorporating classical music and advanced improvisational techniques. He went on to form his own band, ELECTRIC SUN, and continued to push the boundaries of guitar playing with his innovative use of the six-octave SKY GUITAR that he invented.
Uli Jon Roth is mainly known for his ground-breaking contributions to the vocabulary of electric guitar playing. He is regarded as one of the last living protagonists of pure, classic melodic rock guitar from the era of the Sixties and Seventies. Uli is now widely acknowledged as belonging to a rapidly dwindling handful of notable players who are still active and who can still transport the magical aura of that glorious era of rock in live concerts on the stages of this world.
Over the years, Uli has influenced generations of younger guitarists – including many name players such as Eddie van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Billy Corgan, and Kirk Hammett – and he is seen as one of the great innovators in his genre. Uli revolutionized the scope of expression of his favorite instrument by being the first to introduce sophisticated virtuoso violin techniques and many other new ideas into the guitar vocabulary.
Uli Jon Roth is also a prolific composer who has written and performed symphonic music with orchestras. He has also released several important solo albums throughout his career, featuring a diverse range of musical styles. He continues to tour the world and record, inspiring generations of musicians with his unparalleled creativity and passion for music.
