Melodic hard rock royalty Magnum have announced a special show at Islington’s Assembly Hall on 6th May 2024.
Formed in Birmingham over 50 years ago by lead singer Bob Catley and lead guitarist Tony Clarkin, Magnum have cemented themselves as one of the UK’s finest hard rock exports, a largely American dominated genre.
With their unique melodic skill and tasteful instrumentation, the group have release 22 studio albums over the years, with their most recent ‘The Monster Roars’, being released last year to great critical acclaim.
With a new album in the works for 2024 to be announced on October 20th, the group will be touring Europe and the UK across April and May with a line up of Bob Catley (vocals), Tony Clarkin (guitar), Rick Benton (keys), Dennis Ward (bass) and Lee Morris (drums).
After more than fifty years in music, Tony Clarkin continues to effortlessly find motivation and ideas for new material, drawing inspiration from a wide range of different areas:
“You never quite know where or how an idea originates, but the many different countries we’ve travelled to, our decades of musical and artistic experience, and our interest in what’s happening with our planet, all play a part”.
