Aborted are known for twisting and bending the boundaries of death metal since their formation in 1995. Respectfully earning their position within the scene, they have experimented with their sound over the years by incorporating more elements resulting in a more evolved sound, which is positively battering.
What an exciting start to 2024!!
The Belgium death metallers have announced their new album ‘Vault Of Horrors’ which is due for release on March 15th via Nuclear Blast.
Totaling ten tracks, each one plays a tribute to different horror movie classics, showcasing their deep admiration for horror cinema. From classics like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to more recent films like The Mist.
Aborted have also invited numerous guest vocalists to contribute towards this rare project. Guests included are Ben Duerr, Francesco Paoli, Johnny Ciardullo and many others.
Aborted united with producer Dave Otero for this album and the partnership has resulted in a full production in Otero’s studio.
Celebrating their announcement of their album, they dropped the absolutely destroying single “Death Cult” alongside a cinematic music video.
The single, which features Alex Erian from Despised Icon, is a tribute to the 1974 horror classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
It’s a downright blistering track, you are plummeting to a pounding from every single direction. Those drums are like a bulldozing nematic drill and just thump the insides of your stomach to a million pieces. The guitars keep up and shred your face off while the bass leads the deathly, hefty vocals. The pace is bouncy and drops you back and forth. As the riffs come in and drop, mate, the cat has got the entire cream box. It’s laboriously nasty in the best way possible.
My first review of 2024 and it hits the spot, this album release is going to blow the bloody cobwebs away.
