One of modern hard rock’s most exciting breakouts in recent years, KRIS BARRAS BAND are bringing all-new, arena-sized grit to 2024 with their new album Halo Effectset for release on April 12, 2024, via Earache Records.

Today, KRIS BARRAS BAND share their latest single, the accessible earworm “Savages” and its official video.

Frontman Kris Barras elaborates, “Savages is definitely one of the more ‘out-there’ tracks on the album for us. We wanted to push the boundaries of what we have done previously, particularly production-wise and this track is a perfect example of that. Blending more electronic elements in with the usual KBB big riffs and sing along chorus, this track has become one of my favourites from the new album.

It’s a song for the everyman about being looked down upon by a higher power, whether it be political, societal, or commercial. It is about taking that disdain, uniting against it and wearing it as a badge of honour.

I directed and edited the video myself, with my good friend and long-time collaborator Tommy Rowe on camera duties. After releasing a couple of solid performance-based videos, we really wanted to mix it up on this one by doing something more cinematic and with a narrative throughout.

We were going for a ‘Stranger Things meets Quentin Tarantino’ vibe with the look and storyline… the alternate realm takes influence from the ‘Upside Down’ in Stranger Things. Actress Kiara Leigh absolutely nailed the role. It was an intense few days getting this one done, battling against lots of issues including a blown generator and severe weather conditions!”

Amplifying the heavier sound from their last album Death Valley ParadiseHalo Effect delivers hard-hitting riffs, soaring choruses, and fuse-lighting technical solos. Fans got a first taste of Halo Effect last year with lead single, “Unbreakable” before the band came out swinging in 2024 with “Hourglass“.

Clearly not a one trick pony, the group then flipped everyone’s expectations upside down, sharing “Landslide (Piano Version)” from the indie store edition of the CD, which is performed on piano!

Halo Effect is available to pre-order at earache.com/krisbarrasband, including colour vinyl (including a signed white & black splatter edition), signed CD, cassette, and on digital platforms.

The indie store only CD, Halo Effect – Piano & Acoustic Edition, includes alternative artwork alongside 5 bonus acoustic and piano versions of album tracks.

Pre-ordering that edition also grants entry to one of the intimate in-store events where Kris and Josiah from the band will do a short acoustic set and meet fans for autographs and photos. For start times, and to pre-order this special edition and attend an in-store event, click here.

For the full, electric live experience, don’t miss their UK headline tour in April 2024. Native sons of Devon, it’s no surprise that the band start off at The Foundry in Barras’ hometown of Torquay.

KRIS BARRAS BAND also headline the historic Chepstow Castle on August 15, 2024, with support from Stone Broken, The Hot Damn!, and Dan Byrne.
