Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

Four decades on from when the fledgling band formed in New Jersey, they’ve filled stadiums the world over, sold millions of records and worked tirelessly on the road.

They’ve earned the chance to kick back, but, in true Bon Jovi style, they’ve decided to celebrate by releasing the latest anthem in their canon and it’s a feelgood banger.

LISTEN TO “LEGENDARY” HERE

Whilst the days of big hair and even bigger riffs is behind them, they’ve matured nicely, the formidable songwriting always shown now a touch more rootsy and blue collar, more Springsteen and Steve Earle than Sunset Strip.

Don’t worry though, they haven’t entirely eschewed big guitars as the aptly and modestly titled ‘Legendary’ rocking in its own sweet way, the huge choruses, massive hooks and singalong verses still very much part of its DNA.

A feelgood paeon to love, this has all the “woo-hoos” you’ve come to know and love from JBJ and Co and those will doubtless be coming out of plenty of radios and from the biggest stages in the world over the next year or so. Forty, and most certainly not out.
