Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

Is it really forty years since FM first burst onto the scene, their brand of platinum quality melodic rock blowing away everyone and showing that at last, the UK had real contenders to the crown held by Bon Jovi and Toto et al.

Giving superstars Foreigner a run for their money, this was AOR of the highest standards, debut album ‘Indiscreet’ full of anthemic diamonds polished perfectly and made for radio play both sides of the Atlantic.

Fast forward four decades and the band show they’re still the very top of the tree, new single ‘Out of the Blue’ oozing with class and their own distinctive style.

With Steve Overland’s soul-drenched vocals and a stinging guitar solo by Jim Kirkpatrick, this number bounces and rolls, its great groove and upbeat feel a recipe for a great time.

They’ve always been kings but this may be their crowning glory. Pure brilliance.
