Review by Tammy Lomax for MPM

Brazilian supergroup Cavalera Conspiracy aka Cavalera have recently released their second single “From The Past Comes The Storms”

Coming from their re-recorded upcoming album ‘Schizophrenia’ which is due for release via Nuclear Blast Records on June 21st.

‘Schizophrenia’ was re-recorded at Focusrite Room in Mesa Arizona and the mixing and mastering was handled by Arthur Rizk.

The artwork was restored and hand painted with watercolours by my favourite artist, Eliran Kantor. His work is purely sublime.

Cavalera released their first single “Escape To The Void” and “From The Past Comes The Storms” is their most recent offering. It was also one of the first written songs that the brothers constructed and they also confirm its a ferocious album opener.

Alongside this awesome second single release is an animated video made by the very talented Costin Chioreanu. The video is enticing to watch, you become easily fixated and addicted with its remarkably impressive randomness and edge. The music totally suits the vibe of this video and they both sit perfectly well together, like two peas in a pod.

This track is rapidly paced and a combination of thrash/death sounding music while holding hands and skipping with those echoed black metal vocals. Throw Travis Stone’s talent into the mix and you have mayhem, wonderfully assaulting fast mayhem. There are a couple of riff breaks, a moment to come up for air before the guitars are bouncing back and forth from the blistering, battering drums.

Not going to lie, I did run out of breath listening to that!

I am eagerly waiting for ‘Schizophrenia’ to show its face once more and from what I can acknowledge so far, it’s going to be full of sheer force and serious clout.

Cavalera will also be embarking on their UK and European tour ‘Third World Trilogy‘ in just over a week. Starting in Leicester on the 12th of June and ending in Romania on the 18th June.
