Filmed on tour recently in Venice & at festivals in Europe, Always At My Door is the latest single to precede the release of their new album Business Is Dead, out next Friday August 2nd.

Complete with sitar solo and 60’s style harmonies the track tells the story of an encounter the band had while recording the new album.

Creeping Jean also embark on a headline UK tour from next week, kicking off with festival appearances at Steelhouse and Tramlines this weekend.

The band have recently returned from tour dates with Rival Sons where they’ve been getting a rave response from fans across Europe.

Frontman Olly Tooze states: “The shows with Rival Sons have been unreal. Our first time playing to huge crowds and sold-out audiences like that in places we’ve never been before, it was really a dream come true. Big thanks to Rival Sons for taking us out, it’s been inspiring and given us even more drive to make our own shows go off with a bang!”

Bassist Kirk Steaggles explains how Always At My Door came about: “When we were recording the new album in Eastbourne, we were sat outside a coffee shop and this woman came up to me and asked if I’m Bob Dylan. I told her I wasn’t, but she asked me again “Are you Bob Dylan?” She kept going and coming back again and asking questions, then she came back to the coffee shop with two gifts and told me I had to pick one.

One was nutmeg and the other was sardines, and I’m not keen on sardines, so I had the nutmeg. We didn’t think anything more of it. But… we’d told her we were recording in town.

Somehow found the studio and she kept coming back and during that process she inevitably fell in love with Tom, and she was like “Ohh you’ve got really beautiful eyes” so the final time she visited she left a package for Tom and it had a candle in it, and it was all a bit weird so we burnt it on the beach.”

“Errr Yeh…” continues Tooze “That’s how we ended up with Always At My Door.”

Putting a contemporary twist on the classic 60s & 70s sound and championed by BBC6Music’s Amy Lamé amongst others, Creeping Jean offer up huge indie-rock tunes to get you dancing and reaching for your shades as you strut out the door. Delivering another indie-rock dazzler complete with sitar and summertime breezy vibe, this is a feel-good tune with a story.

The new Creeping Jean record Business Is Dead” will come out August 2nd on Mature Charlton via Townsend Records. Working away over a hot vintage garment rail, Creeping Jean know all about the vintage business. Their knowledge and hustle, which funded both their first album and this new record speaks to their commitment and dedication, both to the 60’s and 70’s and to making Creeping Jean work.

Praise for the new album (9/10) Classic Rock Magazine: “Fine and dandy: scorching second album from South Coast groovers… there’s a bespoke feel to the five-piece’s sartorially minded rock, with muscular nods to Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys and Queens Of The Stone Age stitched intricately amid the tightly wound onslaught of jagged riffing and squalling solos. Don’t be fooled. Brooding but brilliant, Creeping Jean are still very much in business.”

Business Is Dead” was recorded in Eastbourne at Echo Zoo and produced and engineered by Dan Crook. Bassist Kirk Steaggles states “This album has more of a uniform vibe all the way through, this is more of our signature sound.” he continues “We were concentrated there, mainly ’cause there was f*ck all else to do and it’s a cosy studio with great gear”.

The band’s critically acclaimed debut album “When’s The Blowout?” 2022, was financed from the sale of five thousand pairs of Converse via their Brighton based Mammoth Vintage shop and at carboot sales. Again, for “Business is Dead” Olly found himself hustling to Arundel flea market at 4.30am to raise the funds.
