Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM
The force of nature is back and she’s ready to take on the world. It’s been a rocky road for Kim Jennett and her life has had a few bumps in the highway, but given her huge voice and indomitable spirit, mountains and walls are just something to be smashed down.
New single ‘Hell is Wherever You Are’ sees her official relaunch as a solo artist and it’s a banger, a big song with her distinctive vocals and no little swagger.
With its grinding riff and seductive opening, the number soon explodes into its hook filled chorus, the irresistible rhythms immediately getting under your skin as Jennett’s bluesy tones bristle with a feral undertow that gives it all an air of delicious danger.
Soon to be seen on the road opening for Geoff Tate, the best way to witness the singer is onstage as she unleashes her inner warrior woman powered by some of the most thrilling live rock ‘n’ roll you’ll see all year. Kim Jennett is the real deal and ‘Hell is Where You Are’ is proof positive of that.
