With just two days before the start of their European tour, Scottish riff merchants GUN have today unveiled a brand new performance video for their latest earworm single, “Falling (Damaged Mix)”.

Discussing the emotive track, frontman Dante Gizzi comments, “Falling is about the feeling you have when you’ve met someone that you connect with instantly, like losing your balance in the best way possible, tumbling into a dream you never want to wake up from. Effortless, endless, and all consuming!”

The official video for “Falling (Damaged Mix)” was captured on tour in Glasgow, at the QMU venue on November 13th and 14th and at Barrowlands on December 9th, 2023.

The band’s current lineup, featuring original members Dante Gizzi (Vocals) and Giuliano “Jools” Gizzi (Guitar), along with Paul McManus (Drums), Andy Carr (Bass), and Ruaraidh “Roo” Macfarlane (Guitar), promises an unforgettable live experience that blends iconic tracks with fresh hits from latest record Hombres. The record soared straight to #10 in the UK Official Chart on release, the group’s highest position & first Top 10 since the aforementioned 1994 LP, Swagger, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

Jools declares, “We are beyond excited to take ‘Hombres’ on the road and share it live with our fans. This album has been a labour of love, and the response so far has been incredible. We promise to bring a show full of energy, new music, and the classic hits everyone loves!”

The band recently released a massive 33-track extended edition of Hombres, in conjunction with the gritty new Samuel L. Jackson thriller Damaged, which features multiple of its tracks and premiered exclusively on Amazon Prime in the UK in September, going promptly to #1. The film is now being released on a staggered basis across Europe.

Directed by Terry McDonough (Breaking Bad, Killing Eve), action-thriller Damaged – starring Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, The Marvels, Django Unchained) and Vincent Cassel (La Haine, Black Swan, The Three Musketeers) – follows a Chicago police detective who goes to Scotland after an emerging serial killer’s crimes match those that he investigated five years earlier, one of which was the crime scene of his murdered girlfriend. Also starring are Gianni Capaldi, John Hannah, and Kate Dickie.

GUN also marked the 30th anniversary of their iconic single “Word Up!” Originally released in July1994, this rocked-up remake of Cameo‘s 1986 Top 5 smash hit not only became GUN’s biggest hit but also won them their first-ever MTV Europe Music Award (EMA) in Berlin. The song was originally made famous by Cameo, an American funk group known for their flamboyant frontman.

GUN‘s rendition of “Word Up!” was far from a novelty. By the time they recorded it for their aptly named 1994 album SwaggerGUN had already released two albums, Taking On The World (1989) and Gallus (1992), and had achieved eight self-penned Top 75 singles. The idea of infusing rock guitars into “Word Up!” started as a bit of fun in their rehearsal room.
