Phoenix shoegazers Glixen have returned with the latest single off their imminent quiet pleasures EP, which arrives February 21, 2025 digitally via AWAL and on vinyl via Wichita Recordings. “all tied up” is out now, serving as the final preview of their eagerly anticipated sophomore EP.
As guitars churn around vocalist Aislinn Ritchie’s pleading vocals, hard-hitting drums anchor the sonic hurricane, showcasing the band’s growing sound-melding abilities.
“‘all tied up’ is about feeling completely consumed by someone,” says Ritchie. “We definitely wanted the song to feel enveloping. There’s a subtle tension that builds throughout with a push and pull between the guitars and vocals. The song hits hard with its emotional depth, yet breathes with a playful melody.”

Last year, the band released “lick the star,” “lust,” “foreversoon,” and “sick silent” beginning to preview what the upcoming Sonny DiPerri (My Bloody Valentine, DIIV) produced EP will sound like. Each track marks a step forward within their sound; atmospheric and drenched in distortion, continuing a sonic evolvement that feels fresh and completely locked in.

Glixen had a massive 2024. From playing SXSW (see Rolling Stone) and Treefort Festival to supporting genre stalwarts like Interpol, DIIV, Nothing., Tanukichan, and Turnover and contemporaries like Glare, Glitterer, Softcult and Fish Narc, they’ve played to packed crowds across the country. The run continues this year with their first-ever headlining North American tour with support from contemporaries she’s green and Suzy Clue and appearances at Coachella, Noise Pop Festival and Freakout Weekender.
