Brighton’s hotly tipped rising garage rock ‘n’ roll force, Creeping Jean, are set to release an exclusive 7″ vinyl, The Clothes Shop 7inch, for Record Store Day 2025 (April 12th).
The limited-edition orange vinyl will feature two brand-new tracks recorded live inside their own vintage clothing shop, Mammoth, in the heart of Brighton’s Laines. To celebrate, the band have also just announced supports for their “Business is (Still) Dead” UK Tour this April around Record Store Day.

Known for their electrifying live performances and groove-laden indie anthems, Creeping Jean took an unconventional approach for this release, capturing the raw energy of their music inside the very shop that has helped fund their journey.
Recorded on a rainy Sunday in November, shoppers stopped to watch through the window display or danced in the street as the band tore through two blistering new tracks: “Spice Rack” and “God Bless Honking Clover.”

Frontman Oliver Tooze explains: “The shop has been the backbone of everything we’ve done, so recording inside it just felt right. We shut up shop, crammed inside with all the jeans, leather jackets, and belts, and went for it. It was chaotic but perfect.

The release ties into the themes of their 2024 album Business Is Dead and works as an addendum to the release—a nod to the challenges of modern high-street survival. As independent record stores continue to battle for relevance, the band sees this partnership with Record Store Day 2025 as a natural fit.
“When the idea came up to record in the shop and release something exclusive for RSD, it was a no-brainer,” says the band. “We’re vinyl collectors ourselves, and Mammoth is just around the corner from amazing record stores like Resident, The Record Album, Wax Factor & Across The Tracks. This whole release is about celebrating and supporting the high street.”
