Ecca Vandal epitomises creative multiplicity — a rebellious and tenacious voice, with an explosive shot of adrenaline destroying genre-based norms. This new era sees Ecca with sharper hooks, starker storytelling, and anthems for yelling into the night. “You look better when I don’t look back” she proclaims on the defiant ‘Cruising to Self Soothe’, as she continues trudging a renegade path.
‘Cruising to Self Soothe‘ boils with Ecca Vandal’s signature blend of outspoken new wave and coarse punk. An overt display of influences in a hybrid sound entirely of her own, many fans of the tease reel noted the nods to Nirvana, Fugazi and Turnstile in particular.
Ecca explains “This song is about cultivating your inner strength when navigating life on your own, even when it feels a bit isolating. It’s about that pivotal moment when you recognize that you’re stronger without the people who were weighing you down, and there’s a real sense of empowerment in that for me. It captures the feeling of breaking free and moving forward, no matter the challenges that come. Even when others are waiting for you to fall, you’re still rising — stronger than ever.”

Ecca Vandal embodies the twin-soul of punk rock and hip-hop, with an electronic heart pumping big, energetic and nostalgic beats. Spending her formative years as a jazz musician, her passion for improvisation led her to fall in love with the DIY abandon of punk and foster an ability to effortlessly balance soulful melodies with raw, unapologetic power.
