The highly melodic Wings of Steel from Los Angeles are about to release a wonderfully classic heavy metal album named Winds of Time this fall. Although we don’t know the concrete release date yet or have an album cover to show, their brand new video single Winds of Time is a treat for the ears and eyes – and out today.
Sporting bombastic solos, a wonderfully massive growling bass, and soaring vocals, this title track is really quite something!

Accompanied by a music video, the band delivers a message that highlights the darker aspects of humanity’s past and present. Winds of Time is the title track and first single from the band’s upcoming and highly anticipated second studio album, scheduled for release in October 2025.
“We are extraordinarily proud and excited to be putting out Winds of Time. This is by far our biggest and most ambitious project to date. Releasing this over 10 minute epic track both as a single and a music video seemingly goes against everything the music industry tells you in terms of do’s and don’ts. But we decided to bend the rules a bit and release Winds of Time as the lead single from our upcoming album”, the band comments.
With this track, we get a chance to openly reflect on how the past is still very much alive and relevant in today’s world, where the same tragic neglect of human lives and rights that devastated prior generations, is unfolding in many corners of the world today.

Written and produced by the independent old-school hard rockers from L.A. themselves, Wings of Steel’s brand new track quickly reveals itself as a 10-minute-monster that really takes no prisoners. From the transparent mix and mastering by Damien Rainaud (Mix Unlimited), which arranges all instruments in the listener’s headspace in an almost three-dimensional fashion, to pummeling, nicely sculptured bass lines by Parker Halub to his classic heavy metal leads and twin-solos allowing the guitars to roar, scream and wail, to Leo Unnermark‘s signature power metal voice – Wings of Steel pushes all the right buttons to infuse any 80’s metal maniac’s day with a healthy moment of sheer bliss.

Wings of Steel is a Los Angeles-based Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band founded by vocalist Leo Unnermark and guitarist Parker Halub in 2019.
Rooted primarily in the old-school style of hard rock and heavy metal from the 70s and 80s, the band’s sound can be described as an epic and unique blend of those classic styles. Unnermark’s bluesy touch and dynamically powerful vocal register, paired with Halub’s bombastic riffs and expressive soloing, come together to form a distinctive and massive sound that fans of hard rock and heavy metal have been waiting for.
In 2022, the band released their debut EP Wings of Steel, which quickly established them as a force to be reckoned with within the underground heavy metal scene. Building on their momentum, the following year the band released their first full length album Gates of Twilight (2023), which is regarded by many as one of the best heavy metal albums in recent years.
Wings of Steel embarked on their first European tour in the spring of 2024, where they received praise for their ability to deliver energetic live performances at the same high caliber as on their studio releases. The energy of their live presence was captured and highlighted on their live album Live in France (2024).
On June 13, 2025, the band reveals Winds of Time, their most ambitious single and project to date. Winds of Time is a titanic track that comes with a music video for a total running time of over 10 minutes. With this single, the band demonstrates their unique position and sound in the current Heavy Metal scene.
To date, Wings of Steel has played over a dozen shows in the United States and Europe, including performances at well-renowned festivals and venues such as Heavy Week-end, Rock Hard Festival, The Whisky-A-Go-Go, Keep It True Festival, Up the Hammers Festival, and more.
