Irish band The Scratch have officially released their third studio album Pull Like A Dog today via Sony Music Ireland / Music For Nations.
A gonzo lovechild of traditional Irish music and heavy metal, the unpredictable 10-track LP serves as a striking reinvention for the Dublin fourpiece that was written at Hellfire Studio in Dublin with engineer Thomas Donoghue and producer John ‘Spud’ Murphy (Black Midi, caroline).
Over the past several months, The Scratch have previewed the record by way of “Pull Like A Dog,” “Pullin’ Teeth” ft. Dropkick Murphy’s Kevin Rheault, and “Gladrags.” Together, the trio of songs have captured the attention of tastemakers across the globe, including BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 and The Needle Drop’s Anthony Fantano, who called the band “one of the more unique acts coming up in metal at the moment.”
“As a band, this feels like a new beginning,” says Conor (guitar, backing vocals). “I think the changes we’ve faced have given us a lot of room to grow, maybe into roles we felt were off limits before. Openness, perseverance, and positivity – this album embodies all of that.”
Pull Like A Dog kicks off a monster year ahead for The Scratch. On the heels of the release, the group will embark on a North American headline tour this May before returning home to perform their biggest Irish headline show to date at Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens this summer. Named one of The Independent’s ‘Top 10 Bands to Watch in 2026,’ The Scratch are showing no signs of slowing down as they continue their stake their claim as one of Ireland’s most electric live acts.
