Sing Eat Retreat has announced Main Stage, a new seven-day retreat for rock fans who have always wondered what it would feel like to stop singing along from the crowd and become the voice at the centre of a real live rock band.

Whether it is bringing out your inner Robert Plant, attacking a chorus like Axl Rose or learning how to command the stage like Roger Daltrey, Main Stage gives guests the chance to step up to the mic, develop their voice and experience the thrill of singing with an exceptional band behind them.

Throughout the retreat, guests will rehearse alongside fellow singers under the guidance of Tyketto frontman Danny Vaughn, singer, performer and vocal coach CJ Johnson, and Thunder and Tyketto bassist Chris Childs, who will also serve as Main Stage’s musical director. Together, the trio will focus on voice, confidence, stagecraft and the practical skills needed to front a live rock band.

As the week builds towards the final concert, Thunder guitarist and songwriter Luke Morley, Status Quo drummer Leon Cave and Guitar Heads keyboard player Nick Foley join Chris and Danny to form the live band. Guests will rehearse with the band, learn how to work with musicians in a live setting and prepare for an unforgettable performance on Main Stage’s own mini-festival stage.

Taking place at Casa Felix near Sitges, just south of Barcelona and around 30 minutes from Barcelona Airport, Main Stage is built on the idea that rock music belongs to everyone. Guests do not need to be trained singers or experienced performers. They simply need a love of rock music, a voice they want to use and the desire to step into the songs that have soundtracked their lives.

The retreat is designed for rock fans of all abilities: from people who sing in bands or open mic nights, to those who have only ever sung along from the crowd, in the car or at home with the records on.

Across the week, the programme covers the essentials of live rock performance: vocal strength, phrasing, stamina, mic technique, timing, stage presence, arrangement, dynamics and, crucially, the relationship between singer and band.

The full Main Stage line-up brings together six tutors and musicians whose careers span major rock tours and festivals, hit records, West End stages, TV and film, studio sessions and performance coaching:

Danny Vaughn has fronted Tyketto across four decades and brings the perspective of one of melodic rock’s most experienced vocalists and performers. In 2026, Tyketto’s Closer To The Sun reached No.1 on both the Official UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart and the Official Independent Album Breakers Chart, while Vaughn was previously voted No.34 in Planet Rock’s Top 50 Greatest Rock Singers of All Time.

CJ Johnson is a singer, performer and vocal coach with a career spanning live performance, West End theatre, TV and film, including credits in 42nd Street, Small Island and Oliver!, alongside work as a vocal coach for leading UK conservatoires.

Chris Childs has been bassist with Thunder since 1996 and is also a member of Tyketto. For Main Stage he will act as bass tutor and musical director, drawing on a career that has included work with Paul Young, Roger Daltrey, Don Airey and Lulu, alongside his role teaching bass at BIMM.

Luke Morley is Thunder’s guitarist, chief songwriter and producer, as well as a current member of The Quireboys. With decades of writing, recording and touring behind him, he brings the perspective of a musician who understands how a rock song is built, arranged and translated from the studio into a live performance.

Leon Cave has been the drummer with Status Quo since 2013, having first worked with Francis Rossi on his solo project. A multi-instrumentalist who has toured internationally with Quo and worked with artists including Bonnie Tyler, he brings first-hand experience of the timing, dynamics and energy that drive a live rock band.

Nick Foley is the Hammond organ player with Guitar Heads, performing alongside musicians from Status Quo, FM, Thunder and Tyketto. He is also an in-demand session musician and educator, bringing specialist knowledge of the classic keyboard sounds and textures that have helped define generations of rock records.

Main Stage will culminate in a full live-band concert, with guests working towards a structured final set and opportunities to take lead vocals, share songs, join harmonies, contribute backing vocals and take part in larger ensemble moments,  putting everything learned during the week into practice on stage.

When not learning how to master the art of being a rockstar, guests will unwind in Casa Felix, a private villa just outside of Sitges surrounded by picturesque pine forests, winding countryside trails and Catalonia hilltops. Whether relaxing by one of the three pools, or sharing stories over the beautifully prepared shared meals, the retreat makes sure all rockers return home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Main Stage is aimed at people who love rock music and want to lean into that passion properly. What matters is not technical perfection, but the thrill of live performance and the bucket-list pull of singing with a full band.

Zane Rambaran, co-creator of Sing Eat Retreat, says:

“Main Stage is for people who really love rock music. The people who know the records, go to the gigs, understand the power of a great vocal and a great band, and still have that feeling that they would love to experience it from the other side.

“Across the team there are decades of experience on major stages, in studios and in performance coaching. Guests will build their voice and confidence and experience what happens when they step up to the mic with a proper rock band behind them. For someone who has always wondered what that would feel like, it is an extraordinary opportunity.”

Main Stage combines expert vocal coaching, performance mentoring, live-band rehearsals, live music, food, sunshine and a shared creative experience for people who want to do more than watch from the crowd.
